Wayne Sheldon established MidCanada Production Services in 1977 and his business has grown to become Manitoba’s largest independent production facility.
Throughout his career in the broadcast industry Wayne has worked as a film process technician, camera operator, producer, director, and executive producer. His work ethic and ‘never say no’ attitude is the backbone on which Midcan was built, and because of it he has established relationships with virtually every broadcaster in the US and Canada.
In 1999 Wayne teamed up with colleague Lisa Meeches, of Meeches Video Productions, to form Eagle Vision, a production company focusing on Aboriginal programming. Wayne’s work as an Executive Producer has garnered him many awards including multiple Gemini nominations.
At its 2003 industry awards show, The Manitoba Motion Picture Industry Association honoured Wayne with the Special Achievement Award, for outstanding contribution to the industry, and in 2007 Midcan celebrated it’s 30th year in business.
Wayne has built his company on principles of integrity, fairness and a commitment to excellence, and Midcan’s loyal clients keep coming back because of it.
Did you know? Wayne grew up on a dairy farm near Stonewall and attended a one-room schoolhouse until grade 8.
